Why we do what we do

A big part of serving in the Audio Visual Team, is looking at the bigger picture. How can we make someone watching online, make it feel like they have the best seat in the house, and have a connection with the service

Production (Lyrics & Media)

When in the Production role, you are in charge of running Media for the Service. From the Countdown at the start of the service, Lyrics, Videos and any other media.

Also in the Production Role, you start and stop the streams for Church.

Camera

When on Camera, your role is to capture whats happening on stage, for those online as well as in the building. While on Camera you can also mix between our Camera up the back, and the Camera on the lighting truss.

How to Run Production

When on Production, its expected you will be at the church at 9:30am, for setup of the service. There are a few jobs to be done each week, which you can follow to the right.

 

Turn on the Equipment

First off is to turn everything on. This starts with turning on the four powerpoints to the left of the sound desk. Once this is on, you can turn on both computers (there is no password for either). Then you can turn on both projectors using the remote (either remote works for both).


Setting up Presenter 4 (Software on the Left PC)

Open Presenter 4. This is the software we use to run all our media & lyrics. Checking Elvanto, search and add the correct lyrics for the service. Check will William, Matt or Bec if there is a Bumper Video for the service, or any other extra media.


Setting up the Streams (Right PC)

To setup the streams, open up Google Chrome, and there are bookmarks for both Facebook and YouTube. Follow the prompts to setup. Note for Facebook, you will need to click setup video, Use Streaming Software, and copy that to our Streaming Software, XSplit.

Open FreeStyler (on Right PC)

This Software runs the LED lights for the Truss, and the stage lighting. Once the software is open, you can use the remote to turn on the lights.

Run though the service playing any media. (Left PC)

This starts with playing the Welcome loop, then playing the countdown, then following though the service. Remember, on the Right PC, you will need to start the streams when the countdown starts, and stop when its finished.

Packdown

Packdown is the reverse. Turn off the Projectors, then PC’s, then the powerpoints. Turn off the LED Lights with the remote.

How to Run Camera

When on Camera, the main thing is to keep things in focus, and make sure what we are capturing is engaging with the people watching.

Its expected that you will be at chuch at 9:30am to setup, and also to help the person on Production setup.

 

Turn on the Equipment

Turn on the Camera up the back. When the Production person has the LED Lights on, you can turn on the Camera at the front.


Load the Preset on the Right PC

Open the ATEM Control PC. Restore the Preset. This will then reset the Video Mixer and Cameras with all the correct settings.


Video Mixing & Camera

Using a App on your phone, or using the PC we can change between the 2 cameras to make things more dynamic. Its also useful to use the front camera so that you can get your shot (like a closeup on a gutiar) on the back camera without being live.

Packdown

Turn both Cameras off, and help the person on Production packdown if required.
