Communion
The purpose of communion is to (re)connect people to worship. Through a 90-second message, the goal is to highlight who we worship and why. We worship Jesus! Why? Because his body was broken and his blood was spilled so that we could be reconciled to God—meaning that every barrier, every obstacle, every excuse, is torn down and no longer has any power. During communion, we get to remember the most important act by the most important person, and that should re-orient our hearts to a position of worship.
Do’s:
Lead with passion. What Jesus did for us is a monumental thing and that impact should be visible.
Prompt people to reflect and engage with worship as they take the emblems.
Keep it short, focused, and intentional (90 seconds)
Emphasise the Who! (Jesus), the Why (reconciliation), and the Who For (each of us)
Don’ts:
Don’t overstay your welcome. This is to draw people into worship, not distract them from it.
