Hosting
If you are on the hosting team your role is pivotal in making people for seen, known, and connected. As Ps. Rob says every week:
People don’t leave because they’re disinterested
They leave because they are disengaged
So, the role of the hosts is to make sure that new people are enaged with, they are loved on, they are listened to, and they are treated with “Unreasonable Hospitality”.
Role:
Arrive by 9.30am for pre-service prayer.
Be liaising with the Welcome team to identify guests and new people.
While most of the role occurs at the end of serivce make sure to apply the following before service where applicable.
Connect with new people. Introduce yourself. Find out who they are by showing genuine interest.
Offer them a tea, coffee, water - (Let the coffee team know it is for a new person so they prioritise it)
Ask if there is any way we can be supporting, caring, or praying for them.
Identify the amount of newcomers and ensure there is enough welcome boxes made up.
Each welcome box contains: Shredded paper for packaging, two packs of chips, two packs of Oreos, a handful of mints / mentos, 1 Epicentre Note Pad, a bottle of water, and both welcome cards (QR and handwritten).
Ensure Welcome Boxes are given out and encourage guests to fill out the welcome cards. (One box per family)
Post-service email Ps. Chris (chris@epicentrechurch.com.au) with a quick summary of the new people that attended that Sunday. (i.e 3 New people. Person X & Y, were a couple just passing through on holiday. Person Z, came alone looking for connection they filled out a connection card)
