It’s time for a mindshift!!

Week 1, Your direction follows your attention.

How you act, behave, think, all follow what you give your attention to, e.g. When you drive a car what happens if you stop looking at the road and start looking out the window? You drift in that direction! Your direction follows your attention.

Study questions:

  1. What is your initial reaction when you think about how your attention influences your actions and mindset?

  2.  Rob in the message mentioned that where our attention goes, our thoughts follow. How has this played out in your own life, either positively or negatively?

  3. In your opinion, why do we allow unhealthy attention patterns to persist, even when we recognize their negative impact on our lives?

  4. In his message Rob emphasized the importance of shifting our attention. What are some practical steps you can take to redirect your focus towards more positive and constructive thoughts?

  5. Read the story Rob used from Mark 10:17-22. The rich man had done a lot in attempt to change the direction of his life. It wasn’t for a lack of good deeds he felt distant from Jesus, it was because something else captivated his attention. How can you relate to this story? Read through it slowly. If you were the man in this story, what would Jesus tell you your focus is on?
