It’s time for a mindshift!!
Week 2, If it doesn’t line up, it won’t set you up.
Our thoughts can trap us in negative ruts. In fact, the is one of the enemy’s plans. To create neural pathways that keep us in a mental rut. In the sermon Rob encouraged us that if what your mental algorithm is feeding you doesn’t lien up with Jesus words, it won’t set you up.
Study questions:
What stood out to you in the message on Sunday and how can you apply it to your life?
Rob talked about how the enemy attempts to manipulate our neural pathways by feeding us lies that drop us and keep us in a mental rut. What mental ruts have you found yourself in? And have you been able to identify where they came from?
Jesus in the story from Matthew 16 was quick to identify that the enemy was speaking and to shut his voice off. How often do you follow this example, by being able to identify when the enemy is speaking and shutting his voice off?
In what areas could to actively start taking steps today to shut out the enemy's voice in your life? What do those steps look like?
Philippians 4:8-9 advises us to focus on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. Which of these qualities do you find most challenging to keep your attention on, and why?

Identify your mental rut.
To create new neural pathways, we need to first identify the current ruts we are struggling with. This week it takes some time to begin to identify your mental ruts by answering these two questions.
What mental ruts are you stuck in?
Where did that rut come from?
