It’s time for a mindshift!!

Week 3, Chew On Something Else.

While we don’t get to choose what thoughts come at us, we do get to choose what we mentally chew on. We get to flip out mental algorithm by changing our mental diet.

Study questions:

  1.   What stood out to you in the sermon on Sunday?

  2.   Read Romans 12:2. What does Paul suggest is the key to transformation?

  3.   How can we actively choose what we "chew on"?

  4. Have you ever practiced memorizing scripture? Why or why not?

  5. What areas could change in your life if you practiced memorizing scripture?

  6. Read through Philippians 4:8. Which of the following do you struggle keeping your mind fixed on?

Scripture Memorization.

We need to be taking the war in our minds seriously. Over the last couple of weeks, Rob has encouraged you to do an attention audit, and identify the ruts you are in. With that information in mind, what scriptures can you put to memory to ruminate on and recall when that way of thinking is front and center in your mind?

  • Write a list of relevant scriptures to meditate on.

  • Place those scriptures in areas like, on the fridge, bathroom mirror, work office, and set about memorizing them.
