Meet Our Community Counsellor - Murray Sibbison
Our Clinical Counsellor Murray Sibbison is a highly sort after and respected professional and is considered an expert in the field of addictions - including but not limited to drug, alcohol and pornography/sexual addiction. Murray is a registered level 4 Counsellor and Supervisor with ACA and also a qualified Pastoral Counsellor. Murray has over 12 years’ experience in the AOD/Mental Health sector and over a decade's experience as a counsellor. With an extensive background in addictions, his knowledge of the topic reaches beyond the norm having lived his own personal experience seeking help and residential rehabilitation for a drug and alcohol addiction and deteriorating mental health as a young adult.
He has an extensive range of qualifications and vast experience under his belt including six years living and working in a residential drug, alcohol & other addictions rehabilitation centre, and working as an onsite counsellor servicing various departments including Emergency Management Victoria, Department of Justice and Corrections Victoria (Prisons). Murray has worked with the Emergency Services Foundation delivering their Mental Health Matters Presentation and was the CFA State Coordinating Chaplain. Murray is also the owner of Prodigal Family Services - Addiction Specialist, Counselling & Clinical Supervision.

Murray’s passion is to help individuals and their families connect through the crisis of addiction and recovery. he also offers generalised counselling dealing with issues including mental health, grief & loss, life transitions, men’s issues (including pornography addiction), and work & relational stress.
Murray works mainly as a person-centred counsellor but integrates other approaches when appropriate and helpful. Person-centred therapy is based on the philosophy that each human being is of value and has the potential for psychological change, growth and increased personal fulfilment. Murray seeks to establish a safe therapeutic relationship in order to help resolve whatever troubles the client and works toward finding a better way forward in their life.
Murray is working with Epicentre Church as the Epi-Care Community Counsellor with appointments available on Tuesday's between 11am-6pm.
Epi-Care Counselling are offering individual sessions* for people (aged 16 years+) at the subsidised price of $80 per 50 minute session. (*Couple Counselling & Family Therapy not available)
